I have a new Date!!!

Recommended Posts

I have been sick at home since Friday and when I got to my voice mail at work this morning I had a message from Nisrine that they had a cancellation and I have a new date for my procedure.

Drum roll please....May 2nd!!!!

Woohoo!! I can't wait. I had my appt with Dr. Yau last week and the clinic was really busy so I got to chat with so many nice people. I think I have a realistic view of this - I know it won't be a piece of cake (pun intended) but I am ready to fight the good fight.

Congrats on the new date... its kinda like high school prom... you get a date, your nervous, not sure you want to go through with it, the day quickly arrives, you wear clean underwear and by the end of it you wake up 1/2 naked on your back, droggy with a bunch of strangers around.

Sorry for the flash back... the good thing is like HS Prom it signifies a new chapter in your life.

good luck

Hmmmmmm *looks quizzically at MacDaddy*.....*wondering if he could have been my HS prom date*....naaaaaaaaaah, I am two years older....soooo doubtful. But.... hmmmmmm, that waking up 1/2 naked with strangers around is sounding way to eerily familiar for my liking!

:nervous :guess :kiss

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
