Yes thank you. I wear one everyday its the only way I can survive but lately it's getting worse. I can't sit it the car for a long period of time because it's pain that is very uncomfortable. I was planning on calling my doctor cuz before Motrin would help with all my body pain due to carrying the weight. Of course the hydrocodone I only take at night when I need it but during the day I don't want to take it cuz I'm a RT and I don't feel comfortable with taking that.

Well I know that in the mornings I would lie on my bed and cinch up that abdominal binder as tight as I could get it. Then I would shimmy on that Spanx suit. It's like a cross between a 1940's bathing suit and a corset. Lol. It's funny because the first day I wore all that garb I could barely talk to my patients. And this story gets worse. One day picking up on a pt I tweaked my back so they sent me down to get checked out. They wound up issuing me a back brace to wear. And they would stop and check on me from time to time to make sure I was wearing it. So sometimes in the mornings it would take me an extra 45 minutes just to put on all my garb but it sure helped. Maybe try adding a good back brace and see if it helps you. Also read up on your institution's policy and procedure manual regarding pain meds. I know that mine said that the employee could take a low dose if proven to his/her supervisor that it would not interfere with their judgment when it came down to pt care. So I got my doc to write me the lowest dose straight up pain pill with no Tylenol or anything else added to it so I could take the Tylenol as I needed and the lowest dose pain pill was 5mg. Sometimes I would break it in half and just take 2.5mg and it just made it tolerable for me to get through the day. It just helped with the pain it wasn't so strong that it made me all googly. Just some of my things that I have tried. Hope it helps. Also working in the medical field our shoes don't really look dirty and get nasty looking but you should be getting a new pair of shoes every 3 months for proper support. We wear our shoes out from the inside out. They still look really nice but basically they are flat tires after about 3 months.

Bariatricchoice.com is good. Our surgeons group recommends that and www.celebratevitamins.com. It would be nice to have a sampler box from these suppliers. A sampler box with individual servings of everything they offer would help us all to decide which we like, and which we don't BEFORE we order a 90-day supply!

I bought the multi Vitamin and caltrate and Iron and they are yummy. I bought the hot choc mint and amorato yummy and all the Snacks lol and very good. In canada where i live we have ideal Protein i am going to look into tomorrow see if it is near the same as what you all have down there. I am only working on my three months so still not able to eat too much real food but getting better. So the more protein i can find else where the better.

Which of the Celebrate Vitamins do you get? Do the chewable so taste good? Which flavor do you prefer? Vitamins are so hit and miss that it would be nice to know which ones taste the best. I have never heard of Celebrate before. I just looked it up online but there are too many choices. ; )

I have chewables right now: grape flavor calcium--YUCK, and berry multi with iron--OK. I just ordered swallowable caps and tabs of each, with a separate Iron tab. Hopefully they'll go down easy.

yA the Calcium ones arent to great but to get the amount i need that would be three huge pills so i will put up with a little bad taste then puking. the multi ones and Iron are good. i did buy Gummy ones and my nurse said i better not they might be worse then the pills. so didnt try those.

Yes I've been taking those three "horse pills" chewable calciums each day for the last two months! So I just ordered their easy to swallow tablets. I'm hoping those tabs work better. Celebrate has an order builder option that gives options based on which surgery you had and how long ago it was. That's so they only sell you what your new system can handle. I like that.

I am sorry to hear about everyone's problems. I had surgery on 12/11 and am down 53 lbs. I have not been doing a exercise regime but I am going to have to start . I take Bariatric Advantage calcium chews and have caramel and Peanut Butter caramel and they are not bad at all. I was a little low on Iron but that is included in my multi Vitamin so I guess the doc was ok with it. Everything else looked great . I stall out like some others on here but try not to get discouraged because we are all different. I have a hard time getting 32 oz of Water in and really could go all day without eating but make myself eat because I know I have to. Finding Protein options suck does anyone have any good high protein things you eat that you could share? My doc wants me to only eat fish fruits and veggies . I'm thinking I can barely get in any protein/water where should the fruits come in?

Today was a milestone day! I actually ate "real" food. I ordered a chicken gyro with a small chopped Greek salad. I ate about 1/4 of the chicken off the gyro, 3-4 bites of the salad and a few bites of pita with hummus. It was so good. My kids ate the rest:) I've been feeling so down lately about having to eat the same things over and over, have had trouble eating some days due to my head not my stomach. It just felt good to eat normal food again.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
