I started out with the sleeve surgery September 2nd 2013. Due to excessive gastric acid reflux, they found that I had a sliding hiatal hernia. I underwent surgery for that at the end of October 2013. After that surgery, things went well for a little while; but then the reflux came back with a vengeance. Not only was I having episodes during the day, but at night I was aspirating on the gastric acid almost every night. The surgeons said that this is kind of a common thing. The only fix would be to have another surgery to revise to a complete gastric bypass. So far so good this time around. I had my revision surgery on December 10th 2013.
