I've noticed all the Led in my Pencil hasn't been there :bandit The Doc even gave me some 100mg Viagra! I thought that would get King Kong Erect!!! But nada :faint:you believe that. I was just wondering, to you Post-Op People, did you see any improvement with that???

Thanks Guys,

A close friend of mine (42 years old) was a type 2 diabetic who also suffered from sleep apnea. He lost 150 pounds in 13 months after banding. At weeks post-op, he needed no meds at at 75 pounds lost, he no longer needed the C-PAP mask. He stated his love life is like it was when he was 20 so there's hope for you.

I hate to be the lone ranger but it depends...

Sometimes diabetes can cause permanent damage in the vascular system of the penis. It is important that you see a urologist to get an official diagnosis of the problem.

Good luck and I wish you the best. Even if there is damage there are treatments that most insurances will cover.

You've been a type II (diagnosed) for about 5 years? I wouldn't worry too much right now about a lot of permanent damage having been done. I would, however, get thee to a Urologist as the poster above me suggested and see what he/she has to say. It is also possible that Cialis or Levitra would be a better fit for you. My best friend is a Urologist and when the "blue diamond" didn't seem to help my DH he suggested trying the other two. Our PCP gave samples of each and they did seem to work better. But everyone is different. Also, are you on any antidepressants or beta blockers for blood pressure? Those can also cause issues.

And yes, I think you will notice some improvement when the weight begins to come off.

Well, every consideration has been covered but one. Men can start having dramatic decreases in the amount of testosterone they produce around the age of 40. This definitely has an effect in that area.

Besides looking at the diabetes factor, I would ask your doc to draw some blood and get a testosterone level. It is easy to replace, there are shots, gels, and Patches. If you are truly low on testosterone, replacing it will even help in weight loss and muscle development.

Excellent point, myfoursons. I forgot to mention that, DH did have sampling done and is on the low end of normal himself. I should I remembered that part. Thanks for bringing it up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
