"Operation Operation"

Recommended Posts

Knt4ever. Fortunately I had the morphine "button" when I woke up in recovery and I was so glad. I in a lot of pain but after pushing the button 3 or 4 times I was very comfortable. My pain was managed very well while I spent one day hospitalized. Once I came home I took Vicodin as needed. The pain was not bad at all. I described it as like being punched in the stomach. It only lasted about 4 days.

Best of luck to you.

How did you take Vicodin. They say I have to crush the pills and drink with Water. Is that what you did?

I just swallowed it whole. I never had any issues. I'm almost six months out and am taking Vicodin for my broken foot. I still don't have any issues with taking any pills. I'm even thinking about trying Vitamin capsules once I run out of the chewables.< /p>

They are having me cut the Vicodin in half and take 30 minutes apart.

I love your story...and look forward to reading your journey. You and your wife sound alot like me and my hubby. We enjoy each other and love to laugh. My hubby always makes the best of any situation and always supports me.

Good luck on your surgery and wishing you a quick recovery and many pounds lost. Merry Christmas.

Wishing you all my best, your posts are encouraging to us all especially us pre-ops. It is nice to hear all the little "tricks" to great health after surgery. It seems as though from what I have been reading from your posts that eventually after surgery in time you will make a fantastic mentor with all your experiences, I say this because I see your compassion for others in your posts and it is greatly appreciated.

Good luck.

Less than 12 hours to go and I am glad today is Christmas because it isn't giving me anytime to think about tomorrow. I feel like I am my daughter's age (8) and tomorrow is Christmas for me!

I will keep updating this to help relax me tomorrow. Thank everyone for all the advice and knowledge!

Just took the dreaded "Before" pictures.........wow.

That is the reason I avoid being in pictures the last couples years, because I didn't want to see reality.

About to go to sleep and wake at 0430 to get ready to get the tools to change my life.

Alrighty then!

In surgery pre-op area all prepped with IV in and talked with anesthesiologist and he made my Wiff laugh saying he could park a small Volkswagen in my mouth because I have such a large airway.

Should be rolling out in half hour.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
