Hello to everyone, and I'm hoping you are having a great holiday season! I am new to this forum and have just had my VSG 3 weeks ago. So far so good - I'm down about 40 lbs in all ! My question is regarding how to "minimize my jiggle" during this season when I'll be seeing family/friends whom I haven't seen for a while and would like to make a good impression on! What is the best/most comfortable/less costly brand of compression garments or "knee length, high-waist girdle" that you have found? Oh, and it would be nice if I could get into it without having to call the rescue squad to get me up off the floor! lol My last pair didn't last very long....my daughter came into the bathroom and caught me with a pair of scissors trying to cut my way free! It was not a pretty sight! lol Gotta laugh at that one, but not when it showed up on Facebook the next day! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know about compression garments, but that Facebook post requires payback, big time!

I don't use stockings or anything like it but avon has these nice camis that come with a girdle. They are awesome. I've bought them in xl n l n as I loose weight I'll continue to buy them. They hold everything in nice and tight in the belly area. Plus they go great with a shirt over.

So I find flexees and Spanx to be the best and flexees are cheaper. Kohls usually has them on sale and they work beautifully!

One of the vets told us how to put them on and off. Do NOT try to put them on like a blouse, like over your head. Instead, step into them and pull them up over your body. When it's time to take them off, pull them down your body. It really works!

There's a really funny thread in the powder room that puresouthernnsoul started entitled "adventures in shapers" or something like they. Funny and informative.

Yep I love Spanks!
You can tell the difference too (Look at the difference between our first and most recent episodes to get the gist, LOL!!!)

I have found the Flexees at the Maidenform outlet for a good price if you have an outlet mall around you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
