pb and vomiting

Recommended Posts

i have a question for you all. i have been banded now for 1 year. i do pb sometimes and once in a while i will vomit. however last night i vomitted and when it came up it looked like i was throwing up poop. it didnt smell too good either. i hadnt eaten hardly anything yesterday, cuz ive been sick with what they think is valley fever. but i just thought it strange that it would come up that way when all i had eaten was a couple crackers and a few bites of mashed potatoes. does anyone have any insight they could give me?

thanks

peggy

Sounds to me like there may be some blood coming up.

Does it look like or smell like actual feces? Or is it just brown material? Old blood can look brown.

If it is in fact feces, which can happen, it is a sign of bowel obstruction I think. Which is bad.

I would probably call my primary care doc for an opinion.

susan,

it looks like diareaha and smells pretty bad. i have vomitted up some brown fibery stuff that my physician says is probably tissue from all the coughing ive been doing.

i havent had a skin test for valley fever, they have done two blood tests and both came back negative, but my pulmonary doctor said thats very common to come back negative and still have valley fever.

I would be calling my doctor today. No need to wait on that. It may just be nasty infected gunk that you swallowed, but you never know. Better safe than sorry.

It is EXTREMELY important that you call your band doc for an immediate unfill!!!!!!

With this being said, I have no idea what valley fever is.

Have you had a BM recently? If so, then I wouldnt think it's fecal matter.

Are you having any other symptoms then the brownish vomit? fever, chills, etc?

I would try to keep something in my stomach to vomit instead of straining out this brown stuff. Warm Water is soothing and it will put something in your tummy, also try popsicles.

Hopefully this is just some small virus and it'll pass soon...

I was banded 7-5-05 and I had similar prob and I was having attacks-felt like heart attack, it would last a couple of hours and then as soon as it came it was gone. Went to my doc and he said I needed my gall bladder removed. He told me when you loose alot of weight your gall bladder can get gall stones and even bile obstruction or something like that. The day I had my gall bladder removed in pre-op there were 6 other women waiting to get theirs out also-he said women have more problems than men.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
