But that's what student nurses are for! (I saw that knowing you are an student nurse, and I'm a former student nurse, lol!) Hopefully that gets your motor running properly.

Yeah. I told her I guess this is what I have to look forward to in a couple years. Oh joy.... haha

So I just took a nice walk, and for the to first time, got back into bed on my own. Holy sh!t that's hard to do! IV, call light, pillows everywhere... but I did it. It hurt, but I did it. :)

Apparently! It was even a poor student nurse who had to stick her finger in my butt. I felt more bad for her than I did for me or my butt. Hahah

Lol at least I got to stick my own suppository up my butt last night. And I pottied 3 times today

I have a question. For those who have gone before me. How much Fluid and Protein did y'all get in during the first few days home

I was wondering the same, Leigh Anne. I have no desire to eat or drink right now. Every sip I take of a liquid hits my stomach and feels like exploding lava. It's kind of deterring me from wanting to eat or drink, but I'm pushing through cuz I know I have to.

Barely any. I think my first day I got less than one shake down and maybe 48oz of Water. My surgeon said that's totally normal and to focus more on water to prevent dehydration and another hospital visit. Yesterday was 6 days out for me and I finally got 2 Protein Shakes down and that was the third day I got all my water in.

Wow. That seems like a lot. Today, day 3 post op, I have gotten in about 16 oz of Isopure Protein Drink. Not much plain water. But have also been able to have 2 BMs today I feel fine just worried if I am getting in enough

Well that makes me feel better. Lol. I went and bought some isopure yesterday which was super helpful. I have had some bad Constipation but I knew the pain meds would do that to me. Before surgery I was drinking 4-6 liters of water a day. So that hurts too. And may have been what motivated me to work on the water more diligently.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
