Liquids and Appetite Suppresents

Recommended Posts

So, did you take appetite suppresents during your liquid phase? If so, were they prescription or over the counter? Can you tell this liquid phase scares me?:D

O.K., Little Missy, repeat after me, "I think I can. I think I can. I think I can." You can do this and remember the liquid part is temporary!:D

LOL. I think I can, I think I can...oh! I really can!

I hate appetite suppressants. They make me shaky and nauseous and I feel like if I eat something it'll make me feel better. They never helped me, ever.

That said, I have seen on some boards that some docs actually do presribe Meridia or something like it for the liquids phase. I think that is a considerate doc. It is definitely tough once you're all healed up and regain your appetite.

Yep! Sue, my doc said 6 weeks Clear Liquids post -op. I think I'm gonna have to have talk with that man!

You guys ROCK!!!:D

WHOA!!!

That seems long a very long time. I struggled with one week clear liquids post op. I'll just go ahead and admit that I'm a weak person and don't think I could do 6 weeks clear liquids.

I would definitely have him re-iterate what he really means. CLEAR liquids for 6 weeks? I've never heard of such a thing. You could always refer him to the Inamed Patient Handbook. They sure don't condone clear liquids for that long.

God bless you if this is what this person requires. :D

You know, I'm thinking he just mis-spoke (sp). I know thats what he said because I remember nearly falling out of my chair when I heard it!:D I should have said something right then and there, but thought maybe I missed something in my research, so I kept my mouth shut. You can bet your boots I'll be saying plenty the next time I see him!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
