Mmrennau I respectfully disagree a husband input and a boyfriends input is different, your husband suppose to love you unconditionally , your boyfriend doesn't .

sleevinit, everyone has given such great advice. Please allow me to tell you my story. Many, Many, Many years ago I was married and extremely obese. I have an exstensive family history of obesity and obesity related death. Doctors kept telling me to have surgery or I would die. My husband did not want the surgery. He did not want me to lose weight on my own. He kept telling me I was being selfish by trying to regain my health and lose weight.

After a mild mini stroke brought on by all the extra weight, he began having an affair and eventually left me.

You have to make this decision based upon what is right for you and your health. If you or your boyfriend are worried about how your body will change, ask him to join a gym with you and start excerising before surgery . This will help with muscle tone and to fight the flab post-op.

Whatever your decision it has to be based on what you want and on your health.

Good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
