My ob/gyn put me on prenatals to start taking to help prepare my body for pregnancy. My question is, why do I not have to take double prenatals like I did with the regular Multi-Vitamin? Once I thought about this, I called the office back and the nurse said the prenatals have more in them.............What has your experience been?

Well I was taking some prenatal gummies that Target sells, I cant remember the name , but their target brand and had no problem , and I was advised to take baby asprin to prevent any blood clotting . I was also taking progesterone to support my pregnancy and an increased dosage of folic acid .

Can tell me more about the progesterone and how it helped your pregnancy......It's been almost 16 years since I was pregnant lol!

I am on progesterone also. What it is, is a hormone your body makes naturally when your pregnant before 12 weeks I believe it helps sustain the pregnancy. I for example had a progesterone level of 11.5 when i found out i was pregnant which is on the lower normal end. I was put on progesterone. I did some research and anything less than 10 during pregnancy can cause a miscarriage.

The reason you don't want to take double prenatal Vitamins is that if you do become pregnant too much Vitamin A or D can be harmful to baby... when I found out I was pregnant the first thing my docs did was cut me down to one prenatal and nothing else (except calcium) a day... I am almost 17 weeks now and have blood work frequently and my body is absorbing the nutrients very well...

When i saw my nut last Monday she told me that prenatals are not enough and recommended i stay on the fusion at 4 a day and add Calcium, folate, D3 and Iron. I really hate this conflicting recommendations everyone seems to give. Ugh so confusing! :(

Yeah my NUT, head nurse of my program and OB were concerned that the vit a and D would be too high and can cause birth defects. Ask your OB they are going to know better than your nut if your nut only focuses on bariatric.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
