So I spoke to a friend of mine today that I haven't spoken to in ages. She also suffers from weight issues. I told her what I was doing and she immediately launched into how her cousin's friend's mother's blah blah blah died from WLS. She would never do it. She is too afraid she would either die or vomit everything she eats for the rest of her life, etc. etc. etc. Argh! This is the stuff I didn't want to hear. Thanks....

Tell her to stick in in her ass. Seriously. I had one friend who I knew would not be supportive as she had been vocal about WLS in the past. (Naturally skinny chick had NO RIGHT to voice her opinion, IMO.)

Before telling her (and I only told her because I do love her, she is in my immediate close friend group and I had told everyone else), I let her know that I was sharing something with her that was important to me and that if she couldn't say anything supportive, I was kindly asking her to not say a damn thing at all.

She complied. :D

I agree as I have shared with those who love & support Me. I have one female friend who lost 160 lbs on Bypass and is constantly telling me to switch over ! So tired of her mouth !

This is exactly why I'm not telling anyone before surgery. I really don't feel like listening to anyone's crap. I get a ton of support from my hubby, online groups like this and my surgeon's support groups.

I had a person today tell me that it ruined her cousins life. He won't go out to eat and he had medical problems because of the surgery. I told he can still go out after the surgery and maybe he's afraid he will overeat and that's why he chooses not to go out.

She seems to be happy that my surgery has been postponed twice. Once due to dr's wife having a baby and today because I was sick. She tells me so many negative stories but I know she want WLS also. She's about 450 lbs and needs a hip replacement, which won't happen unless she loses weight. Our company insurance doesn't cover WLS.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
