Week 3 Full liquids

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow weight loss friends! I had my gastric bypass surgery on October 3rd, and a I'm now on full liquids. All I'm 'eating' is Creme of Wheat with Silk (light almond milk) because I am so done with broth of any kind. Does anyone have suggestions on different savory hot 'foods' I can eat? I'm a few days away from puree foods so I'm also looking for puree suggestions too! Thank you!

I'm there with ya honey! I had my bypass on Thursday 10th so I'm only on day 5 of fluids but already it's getting old, lol. Luckily I only have to do two weeks before moving on to mush :-)

Full liquids should include any Soup that does not have "chunks" or pieces of meat or veggie in it. Something like a bisque.

how do you get in all your Protein if you are eating cream of wheat , and Soups. I am starting 2nd week of liquids and had NOTHING but Protein shakes, and still cant reach the goal of 70 grams of Protein?

For me personally, I do double shakes to get 54g of Protein and then eat greek yogurt and have a high Protein Soup, cottage cheese or refried Beans.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
