Moderation just like anything else. I have had drinks since about 6 weeks out and have still been fairly successful.

Im 11 weeks out and I've had 2 drinks over the last 6 weeks. i choose not to drink because of the calorie count, but the alcohol doesnt affect me any differently than it did before. I did not get drunk or even tipsy off of 1 drink... Just my story :)

Even for those of us that were a little weak and had something naughty, just think of what damage we would do prior to surgery. We would buy our candy and then have to buy more for the trick or treaters because we had eaten it all. I would have candy wrappers stashed in my purse and would hide the evidence under the garbage so I wasnt found out. Those days are over.

I agree - I think we've all done well! Lord knows we know how hard it is!!

Congratulations!!! Well, I had 3 chocolates yesterday with my little girl. Today, I have absolutely 0 desire for chocolate. It's the craziest thing. I have NEVER been able to resist chocolate. It's almost TOM too. Normally, I would be living for that chocolate, for more, more, more!

Not only did I stay candy free on Halloween--many, many PB cups owe their lives to me not scarfing them--I am also having to abstain from eating junk food during Diwali which is a huge festival in India.

Take all the junk food you love. Throw it in a big pile. Give yourself permission to eat all of it whenever you want. THAT is Diwali. And I can't do any of it.

I kinda felt sorry for myself yesterday but decided to Celebrate the fact that I hit 60 miles in October, I hit half way to goal today and I planked for 30 seconds now. So I guess life is about trade-offs, and I traded off.

Sigh.

I was doing great... didn't have the slightest desire for any of the candy (weird).. but my 11yr old son was so distressed at the fact that I couldn't have any. I tried to explain to him that I really didn't want any but he just kept getting more upset, probably because it's always been so important to me before. After about 20 min he said 'can't you just have one chocolate kiss mommy?' Resigned to his total pathetic-ness I said ok. He unwrapped it, kissed it, popped it in my mouth and whispered "don't tell sissy" ...too cute!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
