For once I can say that I am happy to be an over 50 person with Fibromyalgia. My Fibro doc has been after me to get into physical therapy. My insurance required me to see a personal trainer prior to my surgery. The personal trainer gave me a list of exercises that smack of physical therapy so I gave in and started PT about a month after surgery.

I've been gradually increasing my activity level and can see improved strength and stamina, and, others say I am winning the battle of the flab.

I will work to upload the handouts that the personal trainer and physical therapist pass onto me.

Hope they will be of assistance to others here.

I've been posting handouts that my personal trainer gave me when I was preop. I started an album that you can see by clicking here. If you cannot view and/or download the items just let me know and I can send you the PDFs.

As the weather gets colder, my Fibro is getting worse and I'm finding it harder to exercise.

Wish me luck, I'm venturing out into the cold to meet my new personal trainer at Planet Fitness. Don't need luck with the personal trainer, I need it with going out into the cold with Fibromyalgia. ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
