I'm actually starting to get arm pits! I told my nurse coach this and she laughed! That was a new one on her! I said I've always had fat arms and now there is some definition. Lol!!

I'm constantly trying to cross my legs. Lol. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't but I'm so close to being able to do it comfortably. I can't wait!!

I wanted to add more angry emoticons to my message but this site won't allow that. There's a cap on how many emoticons you can have in a message??? Why on earth is that???

I know that I'm smaller but, when I go shopping I still find myself trying on my old size. Then I have to go get everything in a smaller size. This has got to STOP!!!

Wow Blondiee, you have done GREAT! Amazing weight loss, and terrific about your size changes - but yes, the expense bites. I stopped at our local Value Village today though, and found a cute Jones New York cardigan and a wonderful summer T with sleeves long enough to cover my upper arms - FIND! Try the thrift stores if you can, and costco has great prices on things like basic nice jeans. Just be sure to wear something like leggings to slip them on over - there's no changing rooms.

My surgery is next Tuesday, and I'm SO jealous of how great you've done - I want to be you!

Thanks for the encouragement Blondiee. I just got back from my pre-op and all is well! He's pleased that he couldn't 'find' my liver and said that means my pre-op diet is doing what it ought to. Also said I'd lost 13 pounds - I said, 'No - ten' but then he told me their scale is heavy by a good three pounds! LOL. So even better. It's only been about 12 days on the diet too. No loss the past three days, but it'll come off when it does. I"m under 900 calories a day, so it pretty much has to.

I'm so excited - Tuesday is my day for surgery! Yes!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
