Look at the calorie content in that bagel. You will change your mind. A buffet for sleeved patients are a waste of money.

You can have anything in time.. It's you who makes the choices.

And girl. You just had surgery. What you are going through is very normal. You are mourning and fantasizing about food. Hang tough remember why you did this. Oh and it does get easier I promise :)

I have gone to buffets since my surgery on 8-16-2011. I only am able to eat about what a 2 year old eats....I hate paying full price for my meals, but I don't like telling them about my surgery so I just pay the full price and suck it up. I will go and get about a tablespoon of each of my favorite foods on the buffet and enjoy just a little bit. I chew chew chew, and savor each bite. Whoever I end up going with usually eats about 3 plates in the amount of time it takes me to finish my one....but they usually don't notice. You will be able to enjoy your favorites again, but use this time wisely to lose as much as you can in this first year post op. it is true that you lose the most during that magical year. Good luck! :)

LOL.....Laura beat me to it. I was going to say, you just started purées. Soon enough you'll be on real food. The first real food I ate was a scrambled egg. And that was the best damn egg ever to be squeezed out of a chicken's egg chute. I'm telling you. It's all I needed. And I was stuffed. Now I can eat a normal meal. But I still eat eggs almost everyday. I love making omelets. Once you go on real foods, you can eat whatever you want, but you'll find there is a wealth of healthier choices that taste just as good. To me, making the better choices makes me feel better about myself...I feel better emotionally for making good choices, and I feel better physically for not eating unhealthy food as often as I did before surgery. I still occasionally do, but each time I do it feels like a backwards step.

I know I'm craving it, but in reality I know it would make me sick. Every thing I loved, like applesauce and eggs taste like junk to me so I'm sure it would be the same. I had a scrambled egg and didn't like it. The only thing I've liked so far is the egg drop Soup that my boyfriend says looks like "snot" Ahole, it's about the only thing I can tolerate haha. I'm thinking of puréeing some cheese and chicken when it thaws. These cravings are just my brain of my old life which is why I post and need the comments because it makes me feel better!

Five-months out - 1/4 of a bacon cheeseburger (no bun) and 2 onion rings. Enough leftovers for 3 more meals. :o

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
