Slim Fast????

Recommended Posts

I lived on Slim fast low carb for 4 weeks after my surgery. I had Atkins strawberry once in awhile when I got sick of chocolate. I love slim fast and the low carb has about the same amount of caloires as Atkins. Sometimes I buy Atkins just because it's on sale.

Well I almost forgot I had posted this awhile back.I ended up just telling them.I figured they would find out one day.I did not tell anyone before surgery besides my husband. My mother wanted to kick my butt that I did not tell her prior. Anyway,I can not stomach the slimfast and I was on mushies by the time we went to the beach so I ate oatmeal, mashed potatoes and tomatoe soup.I was pretty much feeling fine by the weekend except for that dang shoulder/neck pain. Thanks for all the replies!!!

4 days after surgery, the odds are your going to be bloated, in some pain, guarding your incisions, and not wanting to be too far away from a bathroom, or a couch to lay down on... I'd forgo a beach trip if it was me. Granted I was back to work in 4 days, half days, but trust me.. walking sitting, moving took a great deal of effort, and those Protein Drinks give you the runs, not to mention all the gass you have.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
