Surgery on 10/21. It went very well. Had nausea first 2 days when I got up to go to bathroom. After that it subsided. Can definately tell if I swallow too big a sip. Just have to slow down. My liquids, which I am rotating for variation, are G2, chicken boullion, Jello, popsicles. Seems to be working so far. Just hard to get all the liquid in. I guess that just comes with time and practice. Feeling like I made a great decision in having the surgery. :D

Sleeved 10/21 also. Thankfully didn't experience nausea. Nurses were vigilant about anti nausea meds. Having a hard time getting all water/liquids down in addition to Protein Drinks. Still happy I did this too!

I was also sleeved on Monday 10/21... I'm having a hard time with this has issue. I've walked and I feel very strong but the has just will not go away. When I eat I can feel it and it hurts for the food to go down. I'm going to try GasX and see if it helps. I also woke up sleeping on my tummy' date=' there was no pain but I'm wondering if it affects me?[/quote']

Hi!!! It will get better. It sucks in the beginning but everyday will get progressively better. Definitely try the Gas X and for me it helps if I sleep sitting straight up as if I'm in a hospital bed. I pile a bunch of folded comforters and pillows behind ma and sit up. I never slept this way in the past but it really helped after the surgery now I'm 2weeks out and I still do it. I hope this helps. Rest up!

You get to eat already? Like food? Or liquids?

Yes i use Protein. Right now I am using the pre op Protein Shakes, hot chocolate, pudding (thin). I was actually able to get all my protein and liquids in yesterday. I still weigh the same as when I had the surgery, but I know that having surgery and being put to sleep and on iv's will take a little while to get out of my system. But I would still like to have some kind of loss when I go for my 2 week checkup.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
