  • My whole weight loss experience has been a stall with bits of loss here and there. And while it not as dramatic and exciting as "I lost 100 pounds in three months! Yay me!" (Or a 100 pounds at all)

I haven't been sleeved (yet) but as someone who is trying to lose the required 10% body weight before surgery I can give you tips to get you through the stalls mentally. 1. Don't weigh yourself ever

  • Even with the sleeve it is a marathon and not a race. For some perspective how much have you lost?

I was curious why the scale wasn't moving yet I had lost two inches in my hips. Even though I'm not too good about exercise, I make sure I get at least 70 gms of Protein a day. What I read said that even without exercising you can gain muscle when eating a lot of protein. Since muscle weighs more than fat, I was losing inches although not losing weight.

I kept doing what I was doing and the scale finally moved.

Hang in there!!

I am just over 3 weeks out. My stall lasted for 10 days. I weighed on Friday and then this morning. I lost 5 pounds. Your body just has to have time to catch up. I'm also in the 300 pound range. Don't panic!

I am 3 weeks post op..lost steadily for the first 2, then went up 2 lbs and have been stuck there for 3 days. Isn't it too early to hit a plateau. Doing everything according to the book, but am very depressed about this stall.

i dont know to be honest i emailed my NUT in a panic and she spoke with the dr whonsaid this is "normal" ... for who is mybquestion who eats 500-700 cals a day and still is 190?! ive only seen stalls on here no one i no personally ...except me has had them sooooo i dnt know im holding on to the hope i will say that at 10 weeks out i weight thebexact same for 5 weeks now im down 4 more lbs but i cant help thinking if inwas a consistant loser i would be 20-25# lighter

There are as many ways to get from point a to point b as there are people. I'm a slow loser but I am happy I am losing. If I were younger, more fit, a different metabolism, but I'm me and this is how I lose.

I was sleeved 10/2. I was 230 at high weight, 222 day of surgery. I'm "only" down to 194 today. I've stalled 3 times, for 12+ days each time. I'd kill to have lost as much as you did. And btw, I stick to the plan very tightly.

Don't compare yourself to people who have different amounts to lose, who are younger, who are male, etc. you're doing just fine as long as you're following your plan.

When i would have a stall (before surgery on different diets), I would intentionally eat bad for a day or two. I would add a few more carbs and then start again. It always worked. Bottom line is your body adjusts to what you are doing after a while.

I wish I kept the article someone posted on there a few months ago it was very interesting and stated that it takes 4.4pounds of water to burn one pound! That is why you will lose inches but not weight for a week or two and then one day see a 3-4 pound drop! I am a little over 3 months out and have had a weight stalls! I was weighing every day!!! I was depressing so I stopped now I weight every so often nothing consistent and I am still losing and doing awesome!!!

My surgeon told me today a pound every other day is good. I had my surgery two weeks ago and i havd only lost 7 lbs. Kinda sucks i hope im not going to loose that fast. Got to start eating more today so maybe my body will jump start again with some weight loss

I was sleeved on 10/7 how=221; sw=210 cw=198.8

Ia just started week four and follow the plan religiously. Thought I would have lost at least 10 lbs more. Suffered a 1 week stall where I went back up to 200, now am at 198.8. So frustrating..I just want to see the results faster than what I am seeing now.

Well why we all would love FAST the trick is to lose permanently. This thread has given a lot of good support. Have faith, and keep going!!!

Good to know. I too need to stop weighing every day, which is part of the frustration.

Plateaus are totally normal! Don't be discouraged. Your body is accessing the next amount of adipose tissue' date=' holding water, making muscle, and regulating hormones. It WILL start coming off again. Stick to the exercise, and the food regimen. Also- too few calories puts your body in starvation mode, and you won't loose anything. Make sure you are eating enough food, and get your protein in! Good luck![/quote']

You are right..need to consume more protein.
