For Vitamins & supplements I take:

morning - 1 Trader Joe's chewable high potency multi-Vitamin, 1 sublingual B12, 1 Vitamin D supplement

afternoon - 1 Iron slow-release pill

evening - 1 Trader Joe's chewable high potency Multi-Vitamin, 1 chelated zinc tablet, 1 Biotin, 1 chewable probiotic, 1 Citracal petite.

It looks like a lot, but I just get a week's worth lined up in my AM/PM pill organizer and make it part of my daily routine.

Wake up 2multi capsules and 2 Calcium and 2 fishoil

lunch 2multi capsules and 2 calcium and one probiotic

dinner 2 calcium

Bedtime: 1 Iron 3 days a week. (I don't need it every day)

I can take my multi and calcium together because my multi does not contain iron.. I take a separate Iron pill before bed.

I take my Multivitamins in the morning, along with a B-12. At night, I take multivitamins, Calcium, and Vitamin D...none during the day. This is what my dr/nut suggested.

I take one Viactiv Chew Multivitamin in the morning (does not contain Iron). I also take one 600mg Caltrate +D, twice a day, with lunch and dinner. The NUT told me this helps with absorption of Vitamins and minerals from the food I eat.

Since I am pre op, I have not yet taken the Vitron C Iron supplement or the Vitamin B 12. I was told to make sure that I do not take the Iron supplement with the Calcium as the absorption of both will be affected

Are a lot of you taking more than one multi Vitamin A day? My doc said I just need to take one flinestone one a day. I take one flinestone, one B12, one probiotic, one b1, and two fish oil.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
