Today, I leave at 11:00 to go to the hospital. Surgery at 1:15. Getting panniculectomy AND Tummy Tuck. Would post before pics, but this page seems to be having issues. Will post before and after, when I can.

Surgery went GREAT!! They gave me a TAPS block, while under anesthesia, so I woke up with virtually NO PAIN. The effect lasts about 16 hours, so took very little pain meds during that time. Left the hospital about 17 hrs after waking up. Now a bit more pain, but wouldn't call it excruciating. It's more back pain from walking like Quazimodo and sleeping sitting up. Unfortunately, I don't have a recliner. Tuesday, the Dr. will probably take out one drain and remove the dressings. I'm guessing the left drain will come out first as the output is about 1/5th of the right. Drains are NOT as gross as I expected. I'm able to 'detach' my brain, so it is just a bulb with red stuff. LOL. When I actually see where they go into me, that might be a different story

Thanks again for all the well wishes! I will take pics, when the dressings are off.

That's terrific. Yes, the sleeping sitting up and the walking like Quasimodo gets old and keeps your back rather sore. Once you're able to stand up straight you'll feel much better. I bought one of those bed wedges to sleep on. It's like a pie shaped piece of foam to put under your upper body. I got another to elevate my feet. Ended up putting me in the same position as a recliner would have but took the pressure off my butt and lower back and felt way more comfortable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
