This morning, I had one egg. Later, I had half of a Premier Protein drink, then a few hours later, I took half of an Atkins Protein Bar, and right after, I had horrible cramps, and then came dizziness and diarrhea... :-/ so I thought: dumping syndrome? But then I thought isn't the dumping syndrome when you have a lot of sugar? And the Atkins bar tastes very sweet but only has 1g of sugar :-/

That happened to me a little in the beginning. Not so much dizziness, but after eating certain things I would get the stomach grumbles and have to get to the bathroom. I think it is just your new stomach getting used to things.

That happened to me a lot in the beginning. It was usually sugar or fat. I drank a sugar free lemon tea with honey and that triggered of because there was dry honey powder in it. Anything too greasy (ground meat, chicken cooked in a crock pot) would trigger it too. Don't worry though; it does get better. The farther out you get the more your new tummy can tolerate.

Its definitely the sugar alchols in the Atkins bars. I didn't the Atkins Induction diet last feb for 4 wks. Ate 1 to 2 Atkins bars a day. Any more than 1 and I had tummy troubles.

As for the dumping: my dr says that sleevers don't have dumping Ithat it comes from bypass when ur body doesn't absorb nutrients). That being said, every single time (I'm a slow learner) I try ice cream I get bad stomach cramps and diarrhea. Not sure if its dumping or what (my dr would argue) but whatever it is, its not worth it. A few wks ago I noticed myself bargaining with God if He got me thru it, Id never eat ice cream again. Not unlike drinking too much at 18 yr old....

But I do know that Atkins bars (which r very good) cause cramping....

This can also be how a gallbladder attack feels so keep an eye on it if you still have yours.

I'm 4 1/2 months out now and I have an atkins bar every morning for Breakfast. They don't give me any trouble. Like I said, in the beginning I definitely would have had to be near a bathroom! It gets better! :)

It sounds like you could be lactose intolerant. Ice cream was the first thing that I ate that triggered cramps and diarrhea (I've been lactose intolerant for 3 year). Then I started noticing more and more dairy products hurt me. Now I have to completely avoid dairy. The pain is terrible!

I had an egg for the first time as well today. Had to go to bathroom several times afterwards.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
