I am almost 4 weeks post op and 28 pounds down from my surgery date. Incisions are healing well. The gas and Constipation is very uncomfortable. I will be on a regular foods starting10/15. I go back to work the first week of Nov., so I will have food plan and schedule all ready. How are any of the other 9/16 sleevers doing?

I also had mine on 9/16. I started eating regular food this week. I've been doing great! Lost 28 pounds too. Incisions have also healed up nicely. Only issue so far is when I'm hot and get really thirsty I go to chug my Water and am quickly reminded not to do that!! :) I go back to work on Monday. I could of went back probably 2 weeks ago but glad I waited until I started solid foods so I can better plan my lunches.

Sleeved 9/17. Down 20lbs. and and couldn't be more pleased! Still on soft foods but experimenting with solids, so far so good. I've eaten chicken, fish, steamed veggies but nothing too drastic with no problems at all. I'm not a big legume fan so meat is def going to be my main source of Protein. Having a slight issue with getting all my fluids in but I'm usually at about 48 oz. a day. The only thing that is bothering me is that I burp all the time. My stomach is very verbal and makes the most unusual noises followed by a big burp. It's slightly embarrassing but manageable. If that's the only negative thing I have to deal with I guess I'm doing ok.

HI, I have read allot of posts today, I am Pre surgery started this week with seminars and have first DR appt Monday.. Herts my question for mostn of you ? How do the bowels react for you ?? Is there allot of "Dumping - Diarehha? " My fears are this subject because I travel all over the Nation and Canada for work and flightsm, airports and travel in general can be very difficult when you have this problem. Two years ago I had a lg. colon resection and it has taken over a year for the bowel to become normal again. WT loss is so important to me and I desperatly want this surgery to live again at a normal wt, but the bowels are a concern????

My bowels were pretty messed up I would say the first week/ week in a half. All fluids would go right thru me!!! Everything is back to normal for the most part....but I can't drink milk anymore!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
