Maybe you never will get used to not drinking Water at meal times..But the outcome is pain you say if you do it...that will not change..Your sleeve does not stretch easily...

You are diluting the food you consume by drinking Water too early....Figure out something to do to make that 30-45 minutes pass before you take a drink.....

I clear the table, load the dishwasher, straighten the kitchen and then I sit and talk to my hubby til the time comes that I can have a tea or water.....

Drink your water all day if you want....64oz...of all the ice water you need.....k

I was actually dreading this part the most. I thought there was no way in the world I would be able to NOT drink while I was eating. Surprisingly, this hasn't been that hard for me. Most times, I actually go longer than 45 minutes and then I have to try to make up it. I am 10 weeks out and I still cannot drink cold Water. Has to be room temperature. Works for me though.

I drink a LOT before eating.. The few times I've eaten without drinking prior, I was miserable and counting the minutes until I could drink... but when I drink a bottle of Water 15 minutes before my meal, I'm good for over an hour after.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
