I would call your doctor ASAP. I don't think anyone here can know what the problem is. Even if someone experienced (what sounds like) the same thing, the cause could have been something completely different than what may be going on with you.

I called my "emergency number" and talk to some idiot who's NOT a bariatric doc at all, he said wait till Monday and see my doc. But I have a gut feeling something is really wrong, and I live in a very small town in Iowa, my surgeons office is over an hour away. None of the ER docs around here know jack....very frustrating, can't find anything about it anywhere online either. When you all get fills does your Doc seem to get the needle in a little, and then kinda "poke" around to get it in the port? He seems a little rough, my last fill was like 3-4wks ago, andsince then iI had one or two days with very slight pain, but today has been awful, can't even arch my back without feeling a sharp ass pain!

I can so relate to being so far away from your surgeon and how hard it is to try to explain to reg docs. At the very least call the doc office and leave a message with his nurse and they will get back to you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
