fills-different for everyone

Recommended Posts

I have read many posts about fills. I need another one, soon, but I just had one. I need more of a fill.

I got banded July 30, 2012. I had a fill yesterday, my first since February. I had the fill because I asked for it because I have been eating too much food, I felt. My doctor goes slow. I have had 4 fills for a total of either 2.2 or 2.4 cc. I am fine with this. You just have to learn to eat less food and more slowly. Also after a fill I am on liquids for 3 days, mushy for 3 days and then back to solids. I know your doctor is different than mine but this works for me. Also being on this post fill diet you get a great weight loss. Since yesterday I am down a few pounds. Maybe by Monday I will be in the 180's!!!!!!

My doctor did take out all the Fluid yesterday to make sure his records and my total fill were the same and they were!! He said his colleague does put in more Fluid. I could have had more but then you read about over fills and then having to go back to get unfilled.

I guess people just have to find, after all these years, me included, a different hobby besides food, cooking and eating out. My whole married life (almost 43 years) has been centered around restaurants and big family dinners.

I would rather go slow also. I need to have the will power also and not rely totally on my band. I go about once a year for a fill but so far I am good with 3cc's. It is just no real connection with doctors which makes it hard for everyone. Here is to 180 this week for you. <3

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
