Phoenix Countdown I love this!! She's going on one of my thighs hopefully for my birthday next month. Instead of a simple phoenix to signify rebirth and new life' date=' an actual woman. I'm so excited! =)) HW- 290, SW (4/8/13) - 270.6, CW - 187[/quote']

Very cool! I'm a wussy.... I don't think I could sit through a tattoo. Lol

I would get a tattoo of something that is special to you. I had my surgery on 9/9 and on November 1st I will be getting a tattoo of some poppies and 2 baby birds. I spent months trying to figure out what I wanted. I found an artist that is amazing and she was able to draw what I ebvisioned. You don't always have to have words. You will know what it means and why it is special. Good luck :-)

My favorite aunt has told me my whole life to "spread my wings" and live my life for me and I look at this step of getting the RNY as one of those HUGE steps. So I'm getting the words "Spread Your Wings" with the date of my surgery underneath

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
