I had my 3 week diet advancement class yesterday, and they told us we should be working our way to about 1/3 of a cup. That is right at my limit, too. As soon as I go a bite or two over that, I get the central chest pain twinges which is supposed to be the new full feeling. What was interesting was that they told us this should permanently be my portion size. No expanding up to 1C like some are told to over the first year. They said it was better to increase frequency of meals than size. Hadn't read that before.

Your stomach has not had a chance to heal completely. Your nerve endings that signal that full feeling are not fully functional yet.

I'm only 10 days out and just got the okay to eat pureed foods today. I was shocked that I was able to eat about 3 oz easily. Never felt full, but I did stop eating. I feel like somehow my doctor screwed up my surgery since I've had no problem getting my liquids in, no issues with the first day of eating, and no nausea or vomiting at all. I can also take all of my pills whole. I'm kinda worried that I'm not going to be able to lose the weight because I feel like I'm on just another diet and my extra tool doesn't seem to be helping.

HW(9/3/13)- 284, DOS(9/11/13)-270, CW-259(9/20/13), GW-155(by 9/21/14...my 26th birthday!)

So funny - I feel that way too... Even started trying some stuff small that's not on my plan yet. Being really cautious cuz I don't want to get sick, but I think that's why it feels ok, because you are being so cautious and not going to far. My guess is that if you tried to eat 6oz burger or a big sugary piece of cake you'd learn pretty quick that the doctor didn't mess it up. Keep staying on track you're doing great!

I'm 9 days out and my biggest problem I don't feel hungry at all. I'm going to try a poached egg shortly but I'm actually forcing myself to eat. I seem more focused on staying hydrated and getting enough Protein and my Vitamins. Today was 2 tablespoons of fat free cottage cheese with cinnamon, and same amount of refried Beans. Hopefully this will turn around once the swelling of the stomach goes down.

Keep in mind the lower weight that you start out usually means slower weight loss. Hang in there it will come off. Laws of nature can not be broken it will work!

You will lose the weight. Laws of nature do not lie. It has been proven over and over. Stalls happen and will happen all the time during this process. You have two choices - stress about it and worry to death about the silly number on the scale, or accept it now and understand that the silly number is such a small part of this journey!

It may feel like it's going to take forever but it WILL go. 19 pounds is close to 5 pounds a week! That is awesome! :-) Could you lose like that before surgery? I'm guessing not or you wouldn't have done had the surgery. I'm not losing fast but I am losing steadily. Down 54 pounds since May 30. I have 40-50 more to go and I am loving this journey. I like getting on the scale! :-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
