Now what's wrong?

Recommended Posts

I will be 5 weeks tomorrow, I have never experienced nausea, I have never had gerd, but yesterday, I had very moist mushy scrambled eggs mixed with grits, and Today, I had some fajita chicken with peppers and onions, cooked very well and mushy, and it got stuck and i had to make it come up....why is this happening now and not before.....I would think it gets better, not more difficult...anybody??

well, I wasn't nauseated, it just kinda hurt, like I ate too much, but I know I didn't...so I guess it got stuck, not sure, but i happened yesterday with the eggs and grits too...Not sure what is going on...feels like it is in my lower esophogus instead of my stomach??

I would really call your doc tomorrow. Not sure what it is either, but I would be worried if you don't give them a call

Couldn't keep food down. Then eventually couldn't keep liquids down. It hurt. Lots of vomiting. The gi doc said its normal for 2-3 dilations. I had two. And no. The last time was in July last year about 3 months post surgery.

My experience was every day was different. Six months out there are still things that were wonderful one day and horrible the next. It sucks to be in that process, but hoping you better ASAP.

I've had five strictures and the relief after each one is incredible. A day or two of tenderness and Then it's all good. Sooner or later the body adjusts and after that, it's far smoother sailing. Just remember to chew like crazy before swallowing. It's easy to get distracted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
