I'm fairly certain I'm dehydrated. I had my surgery 8/6 and I was having trouble getting anything to go down. Finally figured out that I guess I wasn't taking small enough sips!! Started taking even smaller and it goes down much better now!!! My question is, now that I'm drinking more, should I wait and see how much i can get down or should I call my doc? I have an appt with him on Friday for my post op visit as he will be out of the country for the following 2 weeks.

How bad are you? Are you really dizzy? Feel like fainting? If so, call your doctor. If not that bad I drink Smart Water or watered down Gatoraide to help my dehydration. It has electrolytes to help and it does.

sip sip sip, are you urinating, I think I am dehydrated too...I dont Pee! only 1 or 2 times at night..as long as your not really dizzy, or feeling sick and you have figured out how to get your liquids in, you would probably be ok to wait...do you have a fever?

As long as your urine is light colored you are ok. If it is dark you are not taking in enough fluids

It's darker than it normally is, but not horribly bad. I don't have any fever. I've almost gotten 20 oz in today. Not enough, but much more than I have been getting the last couple days.

In the beginning I never felt like I was drinking enough. Always had dry mouth, but I kept on sipping.

As long as you keep sipping you should be ok. Remember it is all liquids that count. If you drink a Protein Shake that counts towards you daily liquid consumption. Also ice works wonders as well. I found that sonic ice was the best.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
