Question about sf popsicles

Recommended Posts

Ok so I bought these yesterday because they said sugar free on the box. But I got home and it says sugar alcohol. What is that? Does anyone know.

I think sugar alcohols aren't absorbed by normal people...but they can affect you after RNY. I try to keep the over all level low. But....I buy those popscicles ...and I'm basically addicted. I like the tropicals box the best!

Are you pre op or post op? I found that these are the most tasteful and I was wondering if I can have them after surgery. I would lave to be able to have these afterwards. I would feel as if I am actually having a sugary snack.lol

I am 4 mos post op. I have been using them since day 1. They are great when I am really thirsty and couldn't drink a lot....because they cool me down.

My mom had those same exact Popsicles after her surgery and she did fine. She actually did so well she used those as part of her daily liquid requirement because she couldn't stomach drinking liquids.< /p>

SF Popsicles are the best. When I'm really thirsty i have a couple. Each one is equal to 4 ozs of Fluid, so if I am not going to reach my liquid amount for the day I have Popsicles. I love the tropical the best.

Ammariehs mommy, I've never had good luck finding these at Walmart but I do find them at my local grocery store. Also, I have a couple of boxes of sf fudgesicles has anyone had these after bypass?

Ok I'll have to look around. I was also wondering about the sf fudge bars also. I have some of them now and they say sf but then on the label it says 2grams of sugar. So I don't know what to believe.

I have been having the sf fudge bars. No problems here, but everyone is different.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
