Worst post band day yet

Recommended Posts

I had the worst post band day. I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want.:hungry: I knew going into this that my will power was the pits but this is crazy. I do not get a fill until march 7th and that seems like so far away.:cry

I know that this is normal and once I have fills that it will get easier. I just know that when I had restrictions I did so much better. I know that the band is just a tool and I do have to do lots to help it. I just need to get the tool in working order.

Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!:)

Don't beat yourself up yet. Instead, go for a long walk and walk off whatever you ate... At the very least you can feel like you've been "punished" afterwards. :)

Hang in there. Think success. March 7th is right around the corner. My surgery was 1/30 and my first fill is March 9th. I am in the last few days feeling less restriction. I think maybe the swelling is finally subsided from the surgery. I am feeling some hunger, which I did not in the past 3 weeks. I was easily satisfied with the clears and mushies. So for the next few days I am not willing to lose the 13 pounds I have lost since surgery.

YOU CAN DO THIS! Good advice from previous post to take a walk and feel better if you did have a "slip". Protein is another good recomendation. We are all a work in progress. Take joy in where we are going. Let us know how you are doing. WE CAN MAKE IT through this. Regardless of the restrictions we need to adjust to a lifetime of making better choices- might as well start now.

Good luck, KIM

I know what you mean. Banded on 2/8. Have lost 18lbs from post-op to today. Having a heck of a time being satisfied with "mushies". And, if I eat slowly and chew well, it does seem that I could eat anything. Plus I still have my preoccupation with food. Appreciate the forum if only to vent.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
