New and scheduled for Aug 8 Gastric Bypass

Hi,

I've been lurking here for a while and enjoying all of the posts and info. I just got my surgery date yesterday and had to start my 2 week liquid diet right away. So I basically had no time to mentally prepare myself. I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts and receiving support. I'm nervous and excited at the same time! I can't believe it's two weeks away!! Ooh that's scary! Lol!

How are you coping with the diet? I can eat certain veggies, sugar-free jello, sugar-free Popsicles, brith and vinegar, and 3 to 5 protein shakes per day. Today has been a little rough. I'm at work and all I smell is food and I want some.... But I'm sticking with the protein shake and salad.

Hey! My surgery is August 9th. Today is my last day off "normal" food. Had my favorite Popeyes chicken tenders for lunch and my husband is taking me out for dinner and then that's it!!! Protein shakes and 1 lean and green meal for 1 week then 1 week liquid diet! I'm nervous and anxious and excited and terrified all in 1. Sending positive thoughts to everyone out there going thru the same thing as I.

Oh what I wouldn't give for a big salad!!!! I'm not allowed anything but 3 protein shakes a day, broth, sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. And water water water. Oh I can also have fruit juice if it's sweetened with Splenda. I don't know what I would do if I had to smell food right now!!! This afternoon has been pretty bad.

Today is day 6 for me. I am struggle today. I know if I slip I will regret it. I am hoping the sun goes down soon so I can just go to bed.

8.4 pounds as of this morning. Thanks for the confidence. I am just in one if those feeling sorry for myself. Today was my pre admission testing I thought it would give me boost of toughness!

We can do it! It sucks but the reward will be worth it. The family got pizza. I was joking and said what if I just chewed and didn't swallow does it count. LOL

Yeah that's what I thought too!!! And I know if I did I would feel horrible after. I weighed myself today and its down a pound from yesterday. I have been trying to walk 2 miles a day. I have an app called RunKeeper that tell you how many calories burned. I am burning half my calories I am taking in. And fitness pal tells me I am in starvation mode. Yeah No kidding!!!

Wow!! Starvation mode? It tells you that? Lol! I use the lose It! app to keep track of my food. It seems like I'm averaging about 450 calories a day. I can't wait to be done with this part. 10 more days! Eeek that seems like a long time... But it's not. I just hope and pray these next 10 days fly by!
