How soon can you start working out? I am having my surgery on Monday and am ready to start toning as soon as I can! I am 27 and my highest weight was 299lbs. I am currently at 245lbs. I have already experienced having saggy arms and I am terrified that they will get worse. I love to wear tank tops!

My friend got the bypass 2 months ago and she's taking it easy. She walks 2 miles everyday. So I guess its up to you and how your body feels. I hear you on the whole saggy arms thing.

I'm 26 and had rny october of last year. There are quite of few younger people getting wls. What's really hard to find is other guys to talk to about wls. I read a statistic that said wls is 80% women and 20% men. It was something along those lines. I just found this site and look forward to talking to you guys more.

Only 2 more months than I am submitted.to insurance! Looking at a October surgery date. I just hope that my husband will be here for it because he deploys in October as well. :( I guess we just have to hurry up and wait.

Im 24 and basically still farther away from the surgery. I am in my 8 class session for kaiser options class. So if anyone can explain if they were able to get the surgery although they did not lose the mandatory 10 percent weight loss?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
