August Surgery List complete

Recommended Posts

My surgery was about to be cancelled! I was in tears. The hospital did not have a 'tool' my doctor needed and was refusing to use a replacement tool she never used before. They gave me a new date for September 10th and I was livid!!!! Then they found the tool in another hospital 40 minutes away, so now the surgery is back on praise God, however we are waiting for the delivery of this much needed'tool' Why is this happening and why the hospital isn't supplied properly???? Surgery was to start at 9:30. Now we are waiting.... will keep updated

How...we must have the same luck. I got at the hospital nice and early this morning, but apparently there was a problem with antibodies in my blood, and the blood bank at the hospital could not find an identical match, so surgery is delayed. They ended up finding the right blood, in case they need to do a transfusion, but now I am put on for the last surgery of the day at 3:30. So I went from being number one on the schedule to the last. Ugh....very frustrated.

I had somewhat of the same thing happen when I had surgery. I had to be there @ 11:30 for surgery @ 1:30, got there @ 11 and the took me right in to pre op took all my vitals did the Iv and I waited in pre op room about 45 minutes then they took me up to surgery where I was put in another room to wait for surgeon. Around 1:45 I heard a nurse saying my surgeon was held up in another surgery in another hospital. Mine was being pushed till 3:30. So the took me to my room that I would have after surgery. I got to watch some tv while I was waiting, now I had nothing by mouth since midnight. I was getting a bad headache so I told my nurse and she have me something that went in Iv and within second I was dizzy and then I was feeling great. My surgeon notified the hospital he was running behind and they pushed it back till 4:30. I was finally taken to surgery around 5 and got out around 8:30 pm. I don't remember anything but seeing my moms face flash by for a second and I was out till around 4am. But I was very vocal about my surgery not bing put off till another day. Everything worked out fine though. I'm doing good and have lost 21 lbs. My surgery was 8/6/13. Moved from puréed foods to soft today. Good luck to everyone. And speedy recovery.

Wow had a crazy bumpy move to another floor. Almost got my IV pulled out of my arm. The pain got away from me in the process too. Getting back on track now though. Did a couple laps, had some delicious Water, and am happily using my special button. Oh and I've gained 15lbs in 2 days lol. When I got here I was 376 (lost 16 in 12 days!), and I just weighed in at 391. It's cool though. I'm going to look great once the swell goes. Hope everyone else is doing great!

Good luck Mz Shay! All the best to you!

I woke up after 5 hours of awesome sleep to some pretty intense pain. The narcotic pain relief was causing me to have apnea as I tried to sleep off so I had to stop taking it for a while. So whoa...when I woke up that was intense. But getting situated and ready to start moving soon. Today is gonna be a good day!

8 days post op...still in pain on left side and on bottom of front of stomach...drs are putting me back on pain meds (lortab)...I was having issues with Constipation but that has cleared (now I gotta worry again going back on meds)...I was told its normal for left side pain and the front is rare but it does happen...and its very painful (feels like skin is rubbing/burning)...On a positive note I've lost 12lbs since surgery...

Hi how are you coping now? I'm annoyed! My iv had to be redone 3 times. I am in pain and I'm in a 3 person room..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
