Tomorrow's the day I've been waiting for for 7 months! Have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Hopefully this time tomorrow I will be seated on the loser's bench! Really, really nervous! :(

Tuesday I will be two weeks post-op. I will tell you that my nerves were over the top!! I can also tell you that my experience has been terrific! I had RNY plus gallbladder laproscopicly. I was up and walking laps around the hospital ward that night. Yesterday I did 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I have lost about 13 pounds since surgery. I will go back to work 1/2 days on Wednesday. I probably could have gone back last week, I felt that good!! Good luck!!

Thanks everyone! I will post as soon as I'm able. @Carol, so glad it all went so well for you; I'm hoping for the same outcome. I had my gallbladder out years ago so I don't have to worry with that. My surgeon's during the procedure with the Da Vinci Robot; supposedly there's less chance of complications and a quicker recovery time. I'm hoping to go back to work in two weeks!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
