You felt like leaving the house? We have outdoors concert tickets to the ISO 10 days after my surgery. With a combo of being on the ground and in the heat; I wonder if ill even be able to go. Thanks!

Peace

Chris

I started feeling pretty good by a week and a half post op. I went back to work at two weeks. Now when you say "With a combo of being on the ground . ." do you mean you will actually be sitting on the ground? That may be uncomfortable getting up/down depending on how sore you are after surgery. If you have a folding chair/camp chair that might work out better for you.

I am 10 days post op and I passed up a concert tonight I got free tickets for. Not that I feel horrible. Just uncomfortable, and it's a LONG walk to the stage. And my energy I way down from what it was. But everyone's different! I could have pushed myself, but I think I made the best decision. :)

I am 4 weeks post-op and still cannot trust myself to leave the house for too long. Last time, I left for errands, I could barely make it thru the store from exhaustion and dehydration, add the 1000F freaking heat to the mix. Luckily, my MIL was with me the whole time.

If you do decide to go, take with you plenty of liquids and maybe one of those camping foldable chairs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
