My insurance requires 6 months supervised weight loss class/doc visits/psych eval. I am on month 3 and it seems like such a long time away.

I am getting really tired of this time frame....

But on a positive note, I know after surgery I will have a whole new me for the rest of my life. I can not wait for what the future holds.

Yes just stay motivated...it would be over before you know it. During this time you can focus on renewing your lifestyle, start getting more active, eat clean, and research research research. I am a strong believer in educating yourself. There are so many people on this forum and the internet in general, that have been in your shoes and can tell you what works and what doesn't. So 90 days of researching can have very equipped for this next journey.

When you're going through it, it does seem like a long time away. But use those months to start making the changes you will need to make after surgery anyway. I stopped drinking soda/carbonated beverages/caffeine a couple months prior to surgery so it wouldn't be so hard to kick those habits post op. I also started walking daily so that it would part of my routine even before having surgery. It will be here before you know it!

I completely understand! I started my 6 mo nutrition visits in January, so I'm in the 6th month. Now, I'm glad that I used this time to change some long term habits because yesterday I learned that I'm being relatively fast tracked since I don't have a lot of behavior changes left to change. Rather than 4 weekly classes, I was recommended for one long day called a boot camp. Also, at my 4th appointment with my nutritionist, she recommended getting the ball rolling with the bariatric team. Now, it seems like everything is falling into place to have surgery in late August or September. I think I'll find out more at my next surgeon visit.

I hear ya!!!! My 6 months started on 3/8, and waiting is not fun. I figured it would go by fast, but wow time is dragginngggggg! I should have waited until now to quit the Diet Coke- which to me has been the hardest part!!

It seems like all I do is go to the doctor. When I have my surgery, I am also having my ovaries removed and a bladder sling thing done. One surgery, versus three. I was already hitting my out of pocket max this year, so I figured i might as well. Luckily the docs are all good with it- but getting all the prep appts for all three surgeries is CRAZY. I have never been to the doctor more in my life lol!

Happy Waiting.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
