On a neverending stall

Recommended Posts

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've been stuck at a loss of 50 lbs for 12 days. I go up a pound, then lose it then back again. I not cheating and I'm exercising and getting all my Water and Protein. It's not my time of the month. How long do these stalls last? It's so frustrating!

I have been stalled for a while too, then it will break and I stall again. The last thing the doc said to me at my last visit was, "stay off the scale, it will drive you crazy" he's right I try not to stress over it but I weigh every morning for accountability.

I hear ya !!! My longest stall was 3 months, I changed up my exercise, increased distance and intensity and re-looked at what I was eating. It happens to all of us :( Please hang in there and follow your plan and it will come off.

Ok ladies in was feeling sorry for myself because Ive been stalling after 40lbs loss surgery in feb. I go for 1-3 weeks then I see 1or 2 pounds come off. Im

Wondering if that's why my surgeon is so strict with no fruits and veggies until 75% weight loss has occured?!

All I can say is hang in there the body is a miraculous thing.

Good for what you have lost:-)

I wish I could say something that would make you feel better. I'm also at a stupid standstill and its frustrating.

I feel good and the compliments still keep coming. So focus on the journey not the goal?! That's kinda motivational :))

Lol

Surgery date 7/25/12

I lose for 2 weeks then hang still for 2-3 weeks, i'm almost 4 months and it's been like this since month 1....I just keep on chugging, eventually, if I'm behaving, it'll start back up again.

U and I are twins. Have the same problem. We had our RNy on the same day.

I decided after the first month not to let the scale control me....it's gonna happen, it may not happen as quickly as it does for others but if eating 1000 calories a day, eating healthy foods, and being active, it's impossible for me to not lose weight....math doesn't lie! So, I just keep rolling, Celebrate the days the scales go down and laugh off the days that it doesn't :). Everyone's journey is different but we'll all get their eventually!

I think you should expect to have a few stalls. My longest stall was 2 months while working out and eating under 800 calories. This is when you learn what your digest better! If I eat berries in the morning I did much better. Also not eating after 10 pm no matter what I ate would also just start my stall. Sometimes I just needed a good laxative!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
