Today is my Surgervisary!!!

I'm exactly 1 year out and 107 pounds lost. I started at 280, and I'm now 173. I'm extremely happy with my weight loss, but I am no where near my goal. Somedays I wished I would have pushed myself harder in the beginning so I could have reached my goal already. Other days, I feel like slow and study can still win the race. I have horrible thoughts of gaining the weight back, so I try to avoid as many of my trigger foods as possible as well as trying to walk at least a mile a day to stay active.

Thank you everyone! My recovery was a super slow process. I wasn't able to really move around until 3 months. I wasn't able to exercise until 6 to 8 months. I started really really late. :(. I just can't imagine having a flat stomach.

Hi NayNay! My doctor goal is 160 and my goal is 140. I really want to give myself the extra wiggle room! I couldn't eat or drink anything at all for the first month except ice. By the 3rd month, I had been hospitalized 3 time for dehydration and potassium so low my hands went completely numb. I wasn't able to drink Water to some muscle spasm in my esophagus. I physically couldn't move around do maybe fibromyalgia pain and surgery recovery until 3 months. I honestly thought I would be never feel anytime of normal again.

Hi Kiwiladydee, you look great. You were beautiful before but I'm sure u feel it more now that your at a healthier weight. How are you doing now? Are you exercising daily or every other day. And what type of diet r u on? Do you do Protein Shakes? I ask because my best friend had this surgery almost 10 years ago and she has never taken Vitamins and luckily never had any issues.

Thank you! I still get Migraines and headaches, but my weight loss is going well. I have horrible tailbone pain from losing so much weight from my butt. I had to get an steroid injection in the area. I'm on the same phase 3 diet. No sodas, no bread - except 1/4 sandwich, sweet will make me super hot and too hyper. I usually eat lots of fruit, vegetables, meat and shakes. I use injury Protein - unflavored a lot! I take 2 chewable Multi Vitamins and a chewable Calcium.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
