My highest weight was 340 back in Nov 2012. My starting weight was 321 in January 2014. Weight on day of surgery (7/25/13) was 284. Yesterday my weight was 238.

I'm a little over two months and just tried it for the first time a few days ago. Only had like a fourth or less of it (I was picking it off someone's burger) but it went down fine. Eat slow and chew... That's what I had to remind myself.

I'm not from Bakersfield but I can tell you that Dr. Higa is one of the best in Fresno. I had Dr. Boone, another great doctor at ALSA, but I have friends who had Dr. Higa and they were very happy. Good luck!

I just got my call today that insurance has been approved and I am scheduled for surgery on July 25th! Excited and anxious... Oh my! :-)

People from all over Cali come to see them so I don't think it will be a problem as long as your insurance covers you. Their office hours are 8-5 M-F, office number is 559-261-4500

Someone asked that during a seminar and Dr. Higa and Dr. Boone were very welcoming. They won't judge you for not having the surgery with them and they will help you in any way that's needed. I actually have a friend that did that, she went to Dr. Higa to change her previous Sleeve from another Dr into the RNY because she had some problems with it. It doesn't hurt to give them a call if you have questions

You look great! This really gives me hope. I'm still in the early stages, first meeting with the surgeon this Wednesday, and I'd love to lose 200+ lbs also. I'm nervous but can't wait to get this journey rolling. Thank you for sharing, you are an inspiration.
