I have asl sleep maintainance disorder and have been sleeping about three hours a night. Trazadone has always worked pretty well but since surgery they are not being absorbed correctly. ( I have to take six of then! ). Any ideas about other meds that work well? Ambien makes me do things I don't remember but there's got to be something that will work Of course Ill follow drs orders but I need suggestions.

I take 2 melatoin (10mg) each at 8 pm and then I take another 2 at 11 pm and at that point I can sleep until about 3 or 4 am. and I'm ok with that. I also sleep like a baby at night if I do yoga when I get home from work, its the most relaxing thing for me so I try to do yoga daily.

Since my surgery I can't seem to sleep AT ALL!! I used to fall asleep quickly and stay asleep. Now I literally have to drug myself to sleep. Help?

Struggling too! Ugh! Especially the last two nights. Feels like I didn't sleep at all, just looked at the clock every hour.

So sorry. I've had a sleep disorder for thirty years, and have taken trazadone with pretty good results. Since surgery, though, it not absorbed as well, so I'm up around one every night. Four hours a night just doesn't cut it. I keep going to bed earlier and earlier; I even missed the fireworks on the fourth of July. Oh well, I'm pretty used to it, and exercise helps. Hope everyone has a restful night tonight!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
