I see my surgeon tomorrow for the first time. I hope and pray that they are still going to tell me that i am having surgery by July 1. I have all my questions written down to take with me. The only thing i have left to do is the EDG scoop. i am so nervous i can't sleep If anyone knows of something i really need to ask please speak up!

Have you researched you surgeon to determine how long he has been doing the surgery, statistics like how many surgeries has he done, what surgeries is he an expert at? You may also want to ask about about post surgery care. It was very important for me to find a surgeon who has done over a thousand surgeries and has been doing wls surgery for many years. I also asked other patients about what after care is like. I didn't want to be a patient at a practice that was just in it to get my surgery money and then leave me out to dry. I know it's important for me to be able to go to a support group...which my DR's office has. The psych doctor and nutrionist there are great. and they don't make you feel like you are bothering them. The office staff in general are very knowledgable and helpful with the whole process. They have excellent follow up.

Ask about complications... All the what if's and has this happened to you. Research the hospital my ensurance would only allow me to go to a hospital that was a "center of excellence/disctinction center" in bariatric surgery. Just know you can ask questions up until they put you out for surgery

Yes i researched my surgeon. I was highly recommended to him by my sisters gastro doc. I also have to go to a center of excellence for my insurance. Its funny that you mention being dropped after they get your money because that was the first question i asked at the seminar. I to am not a fan of you care about me until you get my money and then when you do, you don't know me anymore! I will ask again tomorrow though. Thank you for reminding me to bring it up again.
