Surgery Dates for July

Recommended Posts

I'm doing okay but I cheated a little bit and ate a yogurt parfait. The yogurt wasnt sugar free. yesterday' date=' I cut off a 1/4 of a piece of McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese. I was fine after eating that little piece. Other than that, I'm eating the things they told me to.[/quote']

We can do this!!! I went to bed early which helped. What are you allowed to eat? I'm trying to focus on the reason for it to get me through the day. It seems like it gets better for most people after a few days.

Today's my last day of "real" food and it hit me last night making spaghetti. I'm scared that I won't be able to handle the changes but I've been constantly battling myself over it saying food shouldn't have this much control over my life and that things will be different but there will be SO many more positive things that come out of it. I'm so scared/nervous/excited/terrified lol

2 Protein Shakes, 2 healthy choice/weight watchers/smart ones meals, 2 fruits, tons of Water.< /p>

I'm noticing my temper is a bit short with people at the office. Probably because I'm hungry. After the surgery I probably won't feel this way because I wont feel hungry and if I tried to eat any forbidden food, I will get sick and I dont want that.

The pre-op diet is hard because if I cheat, there is no major consequence other than I won't lose a lot of weight before surgery. I'm still deep in the throes of food addiction so I think thats where my anger is coming from. Similar to when I quit smoking. I was angry all the time. So bad that I had to take antidepressants to mellow me out. Its a good thing this diet will only last 6 more days.

I received a call from my insurance today and they advised I had been turned down for surgery. They advised they had not received all of my paperwork from the surgery scheduler. I just started my two week diet and my nut told me to stay on it. The frustrating part is I have left two messages for the scheduler but I have not heard from her.

Stay on top of them! Don't go off the diet, keep the faith, and hound that surgery scheduler like a hawk until the insurance company gets what they need. Did they tell you what they were missing?

The way it sounded it was basic stuff like psych clearance, nutritionist's notes. I have a PCP appointment tomorrow in the same building as my surgeon. I am going to stop in to make sure they have sent over the info.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
