Sick and Dont want to eat...

Recommended Posts

Today I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I got up and ate an egg hoping that would make me feel better. But it didn't. Has anyone felt so sick and/or nauseous and didnt eat anything? I just feel if I do try and eat something I'm going to puke. I barley was able to keep my Vitamins down with Water. Any body has suggestions on what I should do?

My Doctor told me at about 3weeks I will probably feel sick to my stomach. Hang in there. Try a few mini saltine crackers.

I am four months out and still have bad days. I use Zofran frequently to help with the nausea. Saltine crackers also help. My nausea has been since surgery and somedays I can eat something and be fine the next eat the same thing and nauseous. On my bad days I just drink Protein Drinks and water....

Unjury is all I can handle after surgery and I have to make it with milk, NOT Water, if I did water, I'd hurl. I also found I have to use flavored syrups to cover up the horrible Protein flavor.

Hi

My ops in a week and I have all these worries. What are Protein drinks like I am thinking of getting some for a back up. I hate feeling or being sick. Good luck x

Annette

It will be trial and error on the Protein Drinks after surgery. Your taste buds will change. Talk to your nut and see if she has any sample packs for you to have on hand.. mine did. If not, I would suggest having a few sample packs of different ones on hand to try after surgery. Dont spend alot of money before surgery. I did and threw out so much.

WOW!! I'm post of 4/17 and I too began the worst 48 hours ever. I cannot eat or drink anything!!! I'm so glad I came across your thread. I started with zofran again today which helped but didn't solve. I'm finishing out 48 hours w/no Protein and hardly even Water. I was in bathroom much of the night. I'm going to try a cracker in a few mins.

If you are unable to hold liquids down then I would be very concerned and call your surgeon as you can easily become very dehydrated and ill. I also tell people that if they get sick like vomit after they eat or it hurts call their surgeon. Even on my bad days I was always able to drink and get Protein in.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
