Pain question - is this possible?

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 wks post op today. When I came home from hospital, I had that shoulder problem where the gas was causing me terrible pain. After 1 week of arm exercises, it was gone - ALL GONE

Today, at 3 wks post op, I am having same awful pain once again in same shoulder. Is it possible this is still gas pain 3 full weeks later (when I had no pain for past 2 weeks)?

Thanks

Could be. I was lucky and didn't get the shoulder pain, but the gas in my tummy was horrible. 4 weeks out I started really walking the treadmill and it started coming out LOL had to cut that gym visit short but i started to feel so much better

If the pain is in the left shoulder, as the gas does like to travel up to the left, it could also be your stomach which is on the left side under the rib cage. I would contact the nurse or your doctor to make sure there isn't more going on.

Yes, it is my left shoulder again. I have an apt on Friday so will definitely ask. It seems so strange to think this is more gas, but anything is possible!

I would get the same pain off and on for a few months after surgery sometime it would happen if I ate to fast or drank to quick like it made a new air bubble I would tap it as if I was burping a baby and it seemed to help . :) seems weird but I may help

Since we are speaking of pain.... I'm having pain since yesterday after supper, in my upper left quadrant. Called drs. Nurse and said since I had a bread for the first time yesterday at supper, she feels it got "hung up" in the pouch. Said it probably wasn't ready for it. Told me to do liquids for 2 days. It's really sore there I sure hope she's right. Also said it will go down or come up. I don't feel sick to my stomach at all . I had rny on march 25. Anyone experience this?

Oh crap you mean I expanded this thing with one piece of bread! That was on the list!

I'm not even suppose to have regular bread till I'm at least 6 months out. I can have toast but that's as far as they want me to go. They said bread can get stuck unless you eat tiny tiny bites at a time and chew the heck out of it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
