Can you help me with my water?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a week and a half out from surgery. So I have only been eating food for 4 days. Since I started eating I cannot get enough Water in. If I don't drink before, during, and an hour after each meal and Protein Drink - That is 5times 2 hours so basically for 9-10 hours a day I can't drink. That only leaves like 6 waking hours to drink. I am really worried, I can feel I am dehydrated. Any recommendations?

I was told 1/2 hour before and after. I was also told Protein Drinks count towards Water.< /p>

If you have 6 hours try drinking one 16.9 oz Water bottle each hour. Youre still pretty new to the game ..the more you drink the easier it will get to get it down. As you progress you'll be able to take bigger drinks and closer together. You're still in the sipping every 5 mins stage.

I had issues getting enough in. I drink up until I eat. I don't do the 30 before....it has a hole in the bottom....the Water drains right out...I'm not sure why they say this rule..but I make sure it's been at least 5-10 minutes I also don't worry about not drinking after Protein drinks. It's also a drink...so that helps. I can now drink normally and mine was 4.1. Just keep on keeping on. Eat Popsicle if you can

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
