How soon after your surgery did you start to get hunger pains? Also my hunger sneaks up so quickly on me and if I don't eat in 10 minutes I start to get extremely nauseous. Does anyone else experience this?

I go from hungry to queasy in a matter of seconds....it IS getting a little better and I don't get hungry very often so it's livable but I have to keep crackers or nuts around for emergency feelings :D. I was probably 6 weeks out before I started feeling hunger, prior to that I just got queasy as heck if I waited too long before eating. Learning curve....darn this learning curve!

I had actual hunger for 1 day about 6 days post op and freaked out like "oh shit it didnt work!". I don't feel "hunger" at all anymore like I used to. I've learned I'm actually hungry now when I get queasy.

I'm only 6 days out and hungry!! I'm just head hungry though, I think. I can't stand all the food everyone is eating and how food is everywhere!! It's driving me nuts. But to satisfy me I added Protein to my Water and crystal light and then had strained cream of mushroom Soup for dinner. That really helped, I'm really feeling full and got in all of my liquids with no problems today.

I had my RNY 8/24/2009 and haven't filt hungry since. I think it's what has helped keep the weight off.

I had head hunger post op. mostly cause I missed chewing. Now I am 8 months post op, and I started to get hunger pains 4 months post op. people told me it was head hunger and not real. However I'm still feeling the same and it's actually getting worse. I get so nauseous when I'm hungry that it makes it hard for me to eat but I know I have to or it's only going to get worse. I try eating every couple hours to avoid it but it sneaks up so quickly sometimes I'm just like what the hell? Or I feel that I just barely ate and once again I'm like what the hell?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
