Hungry 2hours after eating...

Recommended Posts

The past few days, I will eat Breakfast and then about 2 hours later I am starving and my stomachs is growling. It's been 4 weeks since my surgery. I've tried Protein Drinks in between, but that's not working either. Anyone else had this problem?

Yes. It's kinda frustrating cuz it seems as if we still have to be obsessed with eating all the time. Every 2-3 hours, my stomach starts cramping and hurting until I either eat or drink.

I'm gonna be 4 weeks on monday and feel similar... not "starving" but I NEVER felt hungry before (after surgery obviously) today is the first day I've felt hungry. I just checked my log and I did add 100 calories to my intake, which is not bad, I felt like I had eaten more than that. I am on puree stage, I am not loving it, it is hard to find something tasty made "mush". I also started working out on tuesday, 40 min of cardio, so I am sure that has something to do with the increased hunger. I am not stressed, I just want to make sure I log everything to share with my doctor on my next appointment. What stage are you on? Are you working out?

Dehydration can mask as hunger. Are you getting all your liquids in?

I think it was a head thing. I eat a good bit of Protein, and drink a good bit of Water. But I have noticed that since I upped my water, I am not as hungry. Still staying on the 3 meals a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
